::Guest Bedroom Makeover::

Yuh, if you scroll down,somewhere below is what the "guest bedroom" looked like when we moved in. As a reminder, some of the principal characteristics were the lumpy blue wall-to-wall carpet and the pink-painted panelling. The ceiling was painted deep Cerulean blue.

So, in these pix, you'll see that we've removed the carpet and panelling, and disconnected the radiator from its fittings so we can paint it and repair the wall...a LOT of wall repair was required. At left, patching was complete and priming of the walls begun. Also, the molding at the top of the windows was replaced with the right stuff.

Then the next item of concern was the floor..it was linoleum under the carpet...not the good kind. Beneath the lino was some kind of particle board, and then, I guess, somewhere below that was the subflooring. We couldn't deal with removal of all this, so we decided to patch and paint the floor. At right: beginnings of that process. (click th' pix to see an enlargement)

These last two pix show a late stage in the floor renovation. Carol selected two colors, that would harmonize with the room, to make a pattern using some of the blue tape you see here.
