The Attic Stair

Ha, ha. Self-referential?

View from the Attic

The Attic

This is now part of Carol's studio area. Has really nice views of the city and the Catskill mountains beyond.

The Guest Room

Another freakin' project. Note the el Disgusto carpeting, and more of the ubiquitous panelling. There is no accounting for taste. As soon as we can get to it, this room will be scraped free of the grah-doo.

Le Office

Another bedroom, now designated as office/studio space. The panelling and moulding have been ripped out since this photo was taken.

Le Studio

It's the front bedroom on the second floor. It has large bay-type windows facing the street. This will be studio space.

The Upstairs Bath

It's in much better condition than the downstairs one. Actually, it's quite pleasant. Wait until we make it even better!

Jacob's Ladder

OK, let's go upstairs, shall we? The light's good, thanks to the one remaining stained window. I bet this house had more than this one, once. But let's not cry over spilt milk.

The Living Room

It's nice.

Some of Our Stuff

Yes, well, there are many pictures of empty rooms here, but we've actually already moved IN, and the rooms don't look like that any more. They're filled with STUFF. Here's the living room in the state it's been in (off and on) for the past few weeks. We call it "central receiving".

Dining Room

It seems I have a "fixation"...on fixtures. There's such a...RANGE of the things here...
expanding, it seems, the definition of the word "tacky". This thing has already been replaced. Pix of the new one up soon(?).

Le Bedroom

Another interesting choice for a light fixture. It looks like it belongs to an 18th-century dining room, but it's what I wake up to now, in the downstairs bedroom. "Yeow!" is often heard early in the morning.
